In time past, I have considered
If life is worth the living
To everything there is a season
Time to be born then die
Questioned I is life worth living

Set out I upon my journey
I found despair in the hearts of men
Man killing his brother
Wars from the beginning of time
All I found under the sun
Was vanity of man’s mind

In my search I found folly
Working wisely at earthly chores
She was empty and useless
Her portion your just reward
So I turned and I considered
Was there really a Lord

Well I called upon the name of the Lord
He opened to me the gates of righteousness
Graciously He rendered me love
Touched me with understanding
Set me in His courts of praise
Gave me life for eternal days

Behold how good and how pleasant

In the unity of the Lord
Like a precious ointment poured
Running down my face and beard
Wiping away all my fears

All the rivers run into the sea
Yet the sea it is not full
Unto the place from which the rivers come
To there and from there they return
Does your life have meaning
